Barnes & Nobles is a fortune 500 Company, the largest booksellers in the United States. This company is the leading retailer of contents, digital media and educational products in the country. Barnes & Nobles currently operates 640 stores throughout the continental United States. Profiles Unlimited, Educational Foundation (PUEF) is a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Organization and was established in 1995.

PUEF, has worked under the direction of its founder Ph.D. Candidate Najjiyya C. Arnold to develop and promote Literacy and Children Empowerment in target neighborhoods. Barnes & Nobles are now in association with Profiles Unlimited, Educational Foundation to promote an education and literacy program for disadvantaged children in the Sacramento Bay area.

The first fundraiser event will be sponsored by Barnes & Nobles on April 23-24, 2016 at Arden Fair Mall, at 1725 Arden Way; in Sacramento CA, beginning at 10 am to 9pm. Online purchases of books will continue from April 25 – 29, 2016. Website address is All proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase books, for schools and low-income families in need of these school supplies and for specialized tutoring services. Children will participate in the literacy program through the use of Theatrical Arts such as: characterizations, reading, spoken word, poetry, song and dance over this two day period. We encourage the community to come out and support this effort to empower our children the future leaders of this great nation.
